This is an exciting little nugget (to put it lightly). Luna Leederville in Perth, Western Australia (My area of residence) shall play host an anime-themed set of screenings from the 3rd of July. As this coincides freakishly neatly with the conclusion of my first semester exam period, i’ll be celebrating this one with extra vigor.
A new festival of anime on the big screen featuring: Appleseed: Ex Machina derived from Shirow’s iconic original graphic novel and produced by John Woo; Vexille follows agents who infiltrate fortress-Japan in the year 2077 to see if the nation is developing android technology illegally; The Girl Who Leapt Through Time which was voted Best Animated Film of the recent Awards of the Japanese Academy and Batman Gothic Knight – a series of Batman animations by Japanese filmmakers – basically what The Animatrix was to The Matrix.
A hectic week ensued and the next week is set to follow suit, though I have been devoted almost full-time by University obligations I have managed to find time aside to persue various other things.
What have I been occupied with:
And taking a tentative dip back into the world of Anime, streamed the first epsode of “Himitsu – The Revelation” which has a premise which struck me as possibly satisfying. It centres around the investigation of murders through MRI anaylsis of victims brains which uncover the complete set of all the victims’ memories. The moral ramifications of such intrusions seem to play a heavy part in the plotline and I might be able to stick with it (even if i’m don’t too fond of the normal crime fare on TV), Somehow anime crime programs, specifically “Monster” have an edge which appeals to my sensibilities.
Demonoid members are encouraged to take advantage of my upload of new cure material.
And for good measure here is the offical music video for their new single below:
Now I shall hit the books! Two major essays due within 7 days *sigh* neither with much groundwork laid thus far, it’s the business end of semester!
Watching Invader Zim dvd collection while blogging and ostensibly studying Calculus and Earth science.
Helped my Girlfriend move into her apartment yesterday, she is now blessed with living within immediate walking distance of university. I shall still know the horrors of commuting.
Have throughly wasted this 10day study break and redeeming it will be a difficult task.
Opeth – Porcelain Heart
Opeth’s new music video, a condensed cut of the track Porcelain Heart from their upcoming album Watershed. Again, Opeth delivers in spades, this track seamlessly blends masterful metal guiitar riffs and haunting acoustic passages accompanied by Mikael Åkerfeldt’s somber voice.
Queen Adreena
Frontwoman Katie-Jane Garside of Daisy Chainsaw fame makes the independent rock outfit, Queen Adreena raw, wild and oozes in sleaze and blatant sexuality. Check out some of their clips:
Over the years I have never proven the most dedicated blogger, so when I began this blog after a short brust of about of week things definitely fizzled out and went the way of all my other blogging experiments Life intervened and interest flagged however, I’m back after about a month of absence to give this blogging business another round in the ring! At this point I’m into my 5th week of 2nd year University at the University of Western Australia and I’ve started a relationship with a magificently colourful creature almost universially dubbed Rib (or more fully rebecca) which has upturned and altered the fabric of my life incredibly

So with that, I leave my readership of none to pursue volumious stacks of readings for two assignments due on monday.
